Why Give to BCC Rally

According to current statistics, 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, which means this disease touches every family in some way.  Programs like BCC Rally have helped Susan G. Komen to become the largest private funder of community-based breast health education, screening and treatment programs in the United States.

  • 25% supports research through SGK national headquarters – recipients in NC include UNC-Chapel Hill, and Duke Universities
  • 75% of monies raised through BCC Rally directly benefit Charlotte and 13 surrounding counties and fund local programs that provide screening, diagnostics, education, lymphedema treatment, bandages, survivorship support and transportation to individuals with limited resources

An Independent Grant Review Panel recommended projects based on breast health needs identified in Komen Charlotte’s Community Profile. For the period of April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, Komen Charlotte awarded funding to the local grantees listed below by county:
